How do you charge for consulting and software?
Consulting is billed hourly or as a monthly retainer with a set number of hours. Software projects are scoped first, then quoted as a fixed price or a time-and-materials estimate with a cap, whichever fits the uncertainty in the work. Either way you get the number in writing before we start.
Do you work on-site?
Yes, across the Denver metro area. Most consulting and all development happens remotely, with on-site visits for kickoffs, infrastructure work, photography, and anything that goes better in person. Farther away, we travel: across the US, and internationally where we can legally work. On-site work has taken us to the UK and South Africa, and we have supported clients remotely in New Zealand, Australia, Colombia, and Argentina.
Who actually does the work?
Matthew Audette, the owner, does the engineering. There is no hand-off to a junior team after the sales call. When a project needs specialists, such as a photographer or a designer, we bring in people we have worked with for years and tell you who they are.
Can you take over something another developer built?
Often, yes. We start with a paid review of the code, hosting, and accounts so you know what you have and what it will take to stabilize it. Then you decide whether to keep going.
